MONKEES’ DAVY JONES TO MAKE PERSONAL APPEARANCE

Macon, GA – Davy Jones, former singer with the ‘60s pop-rock group The Monkees, will make a personal appearance in the lobby of Atlantic Southern Bank’s 4077 Forsyth Road location on Thursday, May 29 from 2-3:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Atlantic Southern has contracted with Jones to represent the bank’s burgeoning Baby Boomer customer base. In late summer/ early fall, the entertainer will appear in locally-produced television and radio spots and in print ads throughout the bank’s market area.

Born in Manchester, England, Davy Jones performed on British television at an early age, and was nominated for a Tony Award at age 16 when he appeared in the U.S. as Broadway’s original Artful Dodger in the hit musical “Oliver!” In the 1960s, the 4-member Monkees band was featured in an Emmy Award winning television show, making the quartet a household word. The Brady Bunch episode in which Marcia promises her classmates to bring Davy Jones to her high school prom is one of the most memorable shows of that series.
